Multiculturalism Day

Summary: Multiculturalism day is an opportunity to celebrate the growing cultural diversity in Sault Ste. Marie. Over the past few years, the City has welcomed a variety of cultures and this initiative aims at bringing everyone together in a festive environment to understand and appreciate the contributions of the various multicultural groups and communities to the Canadian society.
Long Description: The event will begin with the Mayor’s remarks at noon on June 27, 2016 followed by a performance by a local First Nations group. There will be free barbeque, cultural performances, world art displays, live music, poetry reading and storytelling, and crafts and Origami throughout the evening. Information boards about the ongoing refugee crisis will also be displayed.
